Clinician Handouts 2008

The Ontario Music Educators’ Association was founded in 1919 and is the oldest continuing music education association in Canada.  We are the largest of the Music Education Associations affiliated with the Canadian Music Educators’ Association with over 1,500 members.

As a non-profit organization, our objectives are to provide leadership in establishing and maintaining high standards of school music throughout Ontario and Canada.  OMEA is the association which speaks on behalf of Ontario school music teachers with the provincial government and with other Ontario organizations.

Our annual conference attracts more than 800 educators from across the province as well as the leading members of the Canadian Music Industry Education Association.  In the past, our Keynote Speakers have included Stephen Lewis, Maureen Forrester and the Canadian Brass among other illustrious Canadians.  This year, we look forward to featuring performances by Mary Lou Fallis, the Hannaford Street Silver Band, the Ontario Honour Band, and more!  Our keynote address will be delivered by former Ontario Premier Bob Rae.

We look forward to seeing you in Toronto for Texture 2008!
